Condolence & Memory Journal

Susie, I will always remember the Tennis matches with Bill against the two of us , So much fun!, Hot tub in the freezing weather as well as the fun painting houses and the many, many evenings spent with the two of you during our time in Norfolk, You are both truly the best people I have known, I will regret never getting back up to see your boat. I was hoping you would make it to Charleston some day, I am so sorry not to be there for the service. Love to you today,

We have been boat neighbors with Bill and Susie for over 10 years. I cannot count the number of times Bill helped me on some electrical or mechanical project where I was over my head and his skills bailed me out. He was always there to help us in when the wind and current was foul. But even more he always upbeat, friendly, and fun to talk with about anything from boats to world affairs. All through the months of chemo and other treatments he endured, Bill was never down and put an optimistic face on what was clearly a very painful and difficult time. We will miss him dearly, Doug & Elaine MacMillan

We have such good memories of our time with Bill and Susie each we docked our boat in YRYH marina. One of the most fun was volunteering with them at a political rally in VA. We had many meals together and many good times. I was shocked to learn of Bill's passing and I am broken hearted. I actually have the photo displayed above in my phone's "friends" folder. It's a great one. One of Bill's phrases he used during conversations that would make us smile was "don't ask me why" and I suppose this time he means it. Love you Bill and Susie.

I have fond memories of sharing our boating experiences. Had always planned on accepting your offer to go visit your seaworthy craft. Just where does time go? Envied so your boating life style and the location you chose for berthing. You will be missed SHIPMATE. Lou Kehrli
